Quetta : Balochistan Chief Minister’s Adviser on Information and Political Affairs Shahid Rind has strongly dismissed reports circulating on social media about an alleged raid on the Chief Minister’s House, terming them baseless, fabricated and contrary to facts.
In a statement issued on Sunday, Shahid Rind clarified that no such incident had taken place and that no raid had been conducted at the Chief Minister’s House.
He alleged that a coordinated social media campaign was being carried out against Balochistan Chief Minister Mir Sarfraz Bugti to malign his reputation and create an atmosphere of uncertainty and mistrust in the province.
According to the adviser, certain elements allegedly uncomfortable with the provincial government’s performance were spreading fabricated reports and misleading information to undermine the government’s credibility and create confusion among the public.
Shahid Rind further accused anti-state elements of exploiting social media platforms to circulate misleading narratives against government institutions and political leadership.
He said the provincial government had approached the National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA) to initiate legal proceedings against individuals involved in spreading fake news and fabricated reports.
The adviser warned that those found involved in disseminating false information, defaming individuals and deliberately misleading the public would face legal action in accordance with the law.
He maintained that freedom of expression could not be used as a pretext for spreading false allegations, misinformation or organised character assassination.
Shahid Rind added that those responsible for spreading fabricated stories would be brought before the law and held accountable for their actions.
The clarification comes amid the circulation of unverified claims on social media regarding an alleged raid at the Balochistan Chief Minister’s House. The provincial government has categorically rejected these reports.
