News Desk: Security forces killed 17 terrorists in two intelligence-based operations in Balochistan’s Kachhi and Kharan districts on November 1, while an army soldier embraced martyrdom during an exchange of fire, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said.

According to the military’s media wing, security forces foiled an attempt by terrorists to establish a blockade in the Sanni area of Kachhi district. Ten terrorists were killed during the operation, while a cache of weapons and ammunition was recovered.

In a separate intelligence-based operation in Kharan district, security forces targeted and destroyed a terrorist hideout, killing seven terrorists after an intense exchange of fire.

The ISPR said Sepoy Hikmatullah fought bravely during the encounter and laid down his life. The 25-year-old soldier belonged to Karak district.

Weapons and ammunition were also recovered during the Kharan operation, while sanitisation operations were underway in the surrounding areas to eliminate any remaining threats.

The ISPR said counterterrorism operations would continue under the vision of Azm-e-Istehkam, in line with the National Action Plan approved by the Federal Apex Committee.

It added that security forces and law enforcement agencies would continue their operations until terrorism was completely eliminated from Pakistan.
