Balochistan Cardiac institute to be established by October this year: Secretary Health

Secretary Health Balochistan, Noor ul Haq Baloch on Monday informed cardiac institute would be established by October this year in Quetta. Speaking to Quetta Voice in an exclusive interview, Mr. Baloch said the present government has taken a number of initiatives to improve health services in Balochistan.
“Cardiac institute would be well-equipped to provide quality and timely treatment to the patients”, Secretary Health Balochistan said. World-fame cardiac professors from other parts of the country would also serve the patients in the Cardiac Institute.
Civil hospital treats around 7,000 OPDs
In response to a question, Mr. Baloch stated that doctors in civil hospital Quetta were providing medical treatment to around 7,000 outdoor patients on daily basis. “This hospital serves the people”, he added.
The Secretary of Health informed that only gynae ward of the hospital was providing medical treatment to over 3,00 female patients every day. About the angiography machine, he said, “it was out of order only for a day because of the burden of patients”.
Civil hospital medicine budget is Rs. 32 crores per annum
Yet to another question, he said the annual medicine budget of the civil hospital was Rs. 32 crores. This is not possible to provide free medicines to all the patients, he added. “Day and night our doctors, paramedics, and nurses are treating the patients”, he said.
He said the corona ward established on an emergency basis in civil hospital Quetta for treatment of corona patients. Furthermore, a 42-bed ward would also be established very soon in civil hospital, Mr. Baloch concluded.
