14 children injured in a road accident on Zhob DI Khan route

ZHOB: At least 14 school children injured in a road accident on the Zhob DI Khan route on Saturday. Levies sources said a truck collided with a school van in the Kapip area of district Sherani.
The collision left 14 school children injured, Levies said. The van was carrying school children from a village to Zhob for a school when the incident happened.
Rescue workers were quick at the spot and shifted the injured children to Zhob district headquarters hospital for medical treatment. Emergency imposed in the hospital to treat the injured of the traffic accident.
5 seriously injured children shifted to Quetta for medical treatment
Doctors in the hospital said 5 children referred to Quetta, the provincial capital of Balochistan province for medical treatment. The children belong to Killi Khan Alam Kapip, levies said.
This incident has come a day after a deadly bus crash claimed 23 lives in Balochistan’s Khuzdar district. Dozens of pilgrims also sustained injuries in the deadly bus crash.
MERC shifts 15,000 injured of road accidents to hospitals since October 2019
The Medical Emergency Response Center (MERC) has shifted over 15,000 injured of road accidents to hospitals across Balochistan since October 2019. Traffic accidents continue to claim precious human lives on a daily basis in various parts of Balochistan. Over-speeding, reckless driving, and poor conditions of roads/highways are the underlying reasons behind rampant road accidents.
78 percent of those injured in traffic accidents were bike riders
MERC data also revealed that 78 percent of those injured in road accidents were bike riders. Most of the motor bike riders are not wearing helmet that causes deaths.
