Dead terrorist involved in murder of coal miners: Spokesman CTD

The Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) killed a suspected terrorist in Quetta’s Sariab road area. Forces conducted an intelligence-based operation (IBO) and killed the terrorist on Tuesday, security sources said. However, the CTD Spokesman revealed that the dead terrorist was involved in the murder of 11 coal miners in Balochistan’s Mach area earlier this year.
The dead terrorist belonged to the outlawed Islamic State (IS) Khurasan, they added. The terrorists identified as Fazal ur Rehman. He was involved in a series of terrorist attacks on security forces, bomb explosions in Balochistan, he mentioned.
Armed men had killed 11 coal miners in the Mach area of Balochistan earlier this year. The coal miners belonged to the ethnic Shia Hazara community.
Police shifted the dead body to civil hospital Quetta for postmortem. Security forces reached the area and launched a search operation after the incident. They also recovered arms and ammunition from the spot of the incident.
Two security personnel also sustained injuries during an exchange of fire with terrorists, sources concluded.
