Balochistan to issue health cards to 1.8 million families

Balochistan government would issue health cards to over 1.8 million families within the next 2 months. “Every family would be given Rs. 1 million’s health insurance card”, Noor ul Haq Baloch, the Secretary Specialized Health said.

The Balochistan government has allocated substantial funds in the financial budget for the year 2021-22 to support deserving and needy patients in the province. “An individual possessing a national identity card from Balochistan would be given a card”, Mr. Baloch mentioned.

The health department steps up efforts

The health department has stepped up efforts to make sure timely issuance of health insurance cards to the people of Balochistan. The department has also held a series of negotiations with various consulting firms to ensure the timely issuance of cards.

“Cardholders would enjoy a free treatment in almost 500 hospitals of the country”, Secretary Health stated. He said the cardholders would also enjoy a free medical treatment in all hospitals of the province.

Cardholders to avail free treatment in all private hospitals 

Mr. Baloch termed the initiative on the part of the Balochistan government as a major development in terms of improving health facilities across the province. He noted that the cardholder would also get free treatment in all private hospitals of the country.

Chief Minister Balochistan, Jam Kamal Khan has also spoken repeatedly about the health insurance card in the province. “Whether government employee or not, you can avail this card”, the CM stated.

Rs. 44 billion allocated for the health sector in the current budget 

Balochistan government has allocated Rs. 44 billion for the health sector during the financial year 2021-22 budget. However, the allocation reaches Rs. 60 billion with the development projects in the health department, Abdul Rehman Buzdar, the Secretary Finance government of Balochistan informed.

Jam Kamal led government has also bifurcated the health department to improve health facilities across the province recently.
