Former Governor Balochistan’s allegations
Editorial :
Former Governor Balochistan, Justice (R) Amanullah Khan Yaseenzai leveled serious allegations against the present Governor Syed Zahoor Ahmed Agha and Deputy Speaker National Assembly, Qasim Sori. In a first stormy interview after his resignation, the former constitutional head of the province termed his removal/resignation a pre-planned conspiracy.
Although, the Governor broke his silence months after resignation. However, the allegations need to be fairly and properly investigated by an independent inquiry committee. Many questioned the silence of the former Governor when he was enjoying all the powers.
Yaseenzai levels serious allegations against DS NA
Mr. Yaseenzai accused the Deputy Speaker of the NA of pressurizing him to grant an extension to what he claimed an accused involved in harassment cases at Sardar Bahadur Khan (SBK) Women University.
This is very serious allegation. It must be probed. The parents are yet to recover from the trauma of Balochistan University harassment scandal, when the Governor revealed this. From Chancellor to a teacher, all have to restore the confidence of parents regarding the sanctity of educational institutions.
Governors in Balochistan appointed their blue-eyed on key positions
It is irony of fate that almost all former and present governor have appointed their blue-eyed as chief of Balochistan Education Foundation, Red Crescent Society, Ombudsman etc. Education is about future generation rather than appeasing any political worker or providing job to any unemployed person.
An educationist needs to be posted as the chief of the education foundation to improve the literacy rate and state of education in the province. Balochistan is lagging behind all other provinces in terms of education. The provincial government, governor’s office, political parties and civil society all have to keep their heads together to improve the state of education in Balochistan.
There should be zero tolerance for any political interference/ nepotism and violation of merit in universities of Balochistan. Only then, the students of this province can compete on national and international levels.
