Balochistan 14-member cabinet sworn in at Governor’s House

QUETTA: 14-member Balochistan cabinet sworn at Governor’s house on Sunday. Governor Balochistan, Syed Zahoor Ahmed Agha administered oath to the new cabinet at a function. The new cabinet members include Sardar Abdul Rehman Khetran, Sardar Saleh Bhootani, Mir Zahoor Buledi, Nawabzada Tariq Magsi, Mir Sikandar Umrani, Muhammad Khan Lehri, Akbar Askani, Noor Muhammad Dumar of Balochistan Awami Party.

PTI’s Naseebullah Marri and Mobeen Khilji were also sworn in as ministers

PTI’s Naseebullah Marri and Mobeen Khilji and Asad Baloch, Syed Ehsan Shah of Balochistan National Party (Awami), Abdul Khaliq Hazara Hazara Democratic Party (HDP), and Zamarak Khan Achakzai of Awami National Party (ANP). No female lawmaker was included among the 14-member Balochistan cabinet.

Chief Minister Balochistan, Abdul Quddus Bizenjo, and other high-level officials attended the oath-taking ceremony. Deputy Speaker National Assembly, Qasim Suri, and others were also present on the occasion. “Portfolios of ministers would be allotted soon”, Mr. Bizenjo told reporters. He said consensus developed among all coalition partners regarding the distribution of portfolios. “All decisions made through consensus”, Mr. Bizenjo added.

According to the notification, eight ministers belong to the ruling BAP, two ministers are from PTI, two from BNP (Awami), one HDP, and one from ANP. Sardar Yar Muhammad Rind, the parliamentary leader of PTI in the Balochistan Assembly was not among the new cabinet members.

CM appointed 5 Advisers

CM Quddus Bizenjo also appointed five advisers including Nawabzada Gohram Bugti, Abdul Rasheed Baloch, Sardar Masood Luni, Niamatullah Zehri, and Mir Ziaullah Langove. Sources in the CM secretariat said the notification of parliamentary secretaries would also be issued very soon.

Former Chief Minister, Jam Kamal Khan had stepped down as the CM on October 24 in the aftermath of serious differences within the ruling BAP. Jam Kamal was replaced by Abdul Quddus Bizenjo as the Chief Minister of Balochistan.
