Firing in Dukki leaves a coal miner dead

Armed men opened fire and killed a coal miner in Balochistan’s Dukki district. Levies sources said the incident happened in the coal mining area. The miner was going to the mine when armed men opened fire and killed him on the spot.

The victim was identified as Lot ur Rehman. Levies personnel reached the spot and shifted the dead body to district headquarters hospital Dukki. A large number of coal miners and people of the area reached the hospital.

Levies said no arrest was made after the killing of the coal miner. The motive behind the killing of the coal miner could not be immediately ascertained.

Dukki houses rich coal reservoirs. Thousands of coal miners from Khyber Pukhtunkhwa’s Swat and Afghanistan have been working as coal miners for last more than a decade.
