CHAMAN: Over 30,000 Afghans entered into Afghanistan through Pak-Afghan border Chaman during the last three days. Pakistan had opened its border with Afghanistan as a gesture of goodwill to facilitate the Afghans on humanitarian basis.
Afghans stranded in Pakistan after the closure of the border in the aftermath of global outbreak of coronavirus heaved a sigh of relief after opening the border. “We are thankful to Pakistan government for allowing us to enter into our country”, Bashir Ahmed, an Afghan national at Pak-Afghan border told Quetta Voice.
Pakistan government had made all arrangements for the Afghan nationals so that they could enter into Afghanistan at Pak-Afghan border Chaman and Torkham. The border remains opened from 6 April to 9th April to facilitate Afghan nationals.
Pakistan has also established a quarantine center comprises of more than 800 tents at Pak-Afghan border Chaman to quarantine the people coming from Afghanistan. All basic facilities have been provided to the quarantine center to facilitate the Pakistani nationals returning from Afghanistan once the border is opened.
Strict security measures were adopted by border force to maintain law and order situation during the return of thousands of Afghans to their country.
