ISLAMABAD: Opposition leader in National Assembly, Shehbaz Sharif has asked Prime Minister Imran Khan to step down after losing the majority in the parliament. “PM has no option other than resignation”, Shehbaz Sharif told reporters at a news conference on Wednesday.
PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM) Chief, Maulana Fazal ur Rehman, Sardar Akhtar Mengal, Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui and other opposition leaders were also present on the occasion.
Shehbaz Sharif’s demand has come after Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) Pakistan announced to support joint opposition in the no-confidence motion against Prime Minister Imran Khan.
“PM’s days already numbered”, Maulana Fazal ur Rehman said. He said an era of incompetency has ended after three years and the country would be on the right track.
After MQM-Pakistan’s support, now the joint opposition has a clear majority in the parliament to remove PM Imran Khan. Balochistan Awami Party (BAP), Nawabzada Shah Zain Bugti and Muhammad Aslam Bhootani have already announced to support the joint opposition against PM Imran Khan.
