Prime Minister, Imran Khan inaugurated the first-ever “TeleSchool” TV channel in the country to provide education to students during the closure of educational institutions in the wake of the outbreak of novel coronavirus. Students to get education from the channel during the closure of educational institutions, the Prime Minister on the eve of the occasion mentioned.
Imran Khan stated that the channel should function and must on-air after the coronavirus to reach out to students in far-flung areas of the country. The channel would be available on all cable networks to enable the students from every part of the country to learn through “TeleSchool” TV. The channel has been prepared by the Ministry of Federal Education and Professional Training in collaboration with PTV.
Unfortunately, the number of out of school children in Pakistan is high and this TV would serve to provide education to all out of school children as well, the premier said.
The channel will beam programs from 8 am to 6 pm every day and will deliver content from grades 1 to 12. The content has been provided by leading Edtech companies including Sabaq, MUSE, Taleemabad, and Knowledge Platform. The channel will be launched on 13 April 2020 by PM Imran Khan and will go on air for regular broadcast on 14 April 2020 at 8 am InshaAllah.
