HARNAI: Two coal miners died during an incident inside a coal mine in Balochistan’s Harnai district on Tuesday. Levies sources told Quetta Voice that the miners were pulling coal in a trolley when the chain suddenly broke. This caused the incident and two miners working inside the mine died on the spot.

The dead bodies were shifted to the nearby basic health units. The coal miners retrieved the dead bodies on their own and launched a rescue operation. However, the ill-fated miners could not survive.

The hapless miners were stated to be from the Tor Shor area of Harnai. Levies handed the dead bodies to the heirs after completion of the necessary official procedure. ” We demand justice for the dead miners this is not the first incident”, Pir Muhammad Kakar, the central leader of Balochistan’s coal mines association said.

In Balochistan’s coal mines, such incidents are almost order of the day. Hazardous working conditions inside coal mines have claimed thousands of precious human lives during last one decade.
