QUETTA: Balochistan government has given the approval for the establishment of three new districts in the province. The districts include Hub, Karezat and Osta Muhammad, Sardar Abdul Rehman Khetran, the provincial minister told a news conference on Monday.
He said Chief Minister Balochistan, Mir Quddus Bizenjo led the provincial cabinet meeting, which approved the establishment of three new districts. With the approval of three new districts, the number of districts reached 37 throughout Balochistan.

The Balochistan cabinet also announced to cut expenditures by 50 percent as a part of an austerity drive across the country to overcome the financial crisis. “Not only fuel, but we have also decreased expenditures by 50 percent”, Sardar Khetran mentioned. He said the present government was trying hard to reduce non-development expenditures to improve the financial position of the province.

100 BHUs upgraded to the status of RHCs
The provincial ministers addressed a press conference about the Balochistan cabinet and briefed the media about the decisions made by the cabinet. The provincial cabinet approved the up-gradation of 100 basic health units to the status of rural health centers across Balochistan.
Sardar Khetran informed that the cabinet has also approved the reinstatement of 361 sacked employees of the communication and works department. “Very soon, the Chief Minister would distribute orders among the employees”, the provincial minister mentioned.

The minister stated that the cabinet approved the permanent appointment of the Balochistan Development Authority (BDA) employees who were working on a contractual basis. “This government wants to support the government employees”, he added.
The Balochistan government also decided to hand over 177 community water supply schemes in Quetta to the Water and Sanitation Authority (WASA). “This will improve the provision of clean drinking water to citizens”, Sardar Khetran stated.
The cabinet adopted the Balochistan Food Authority (BFA) bill 2022. The cabinet approved the establishment of the judicial complex in Sariab to address the grievances of the masses. The mines and mineral department bill was amended and amendments were also made to the inheritance certificate. “We have decided to increase the pension by 10 percent”, he mentioned.
