QUETTA: Pak Army and Frontier Corps are assisting the civil administration and the provincial disaster management authority (PDMA) in rescue and relief operations after floods and heavy rainfall in various parts of Balochistan.

FC Balochistan and Pak Army, PDMA, District Administration and other concerned agencies are providing full support to the rains and floods affected people across the province.

Areas of Quetta, Chaman, Loralai, Qila Saifullah, Sui, Dera Bugti, Machh, Lasbela, Sibi, Harnai, Dakki, Kohlu, Barkhan, and Zhob have been severely affected by floods and rains.

Efforts to evacuate victims are the first priority. However the administration is also assessing the damages so that the relief operations can be expedited – cooked food and tents are being provided to the victims by PDMA, Pakistan Army, and FC.

In addition, financial assistance is being provided to the bereaved families and rations and necessary financial assistance are also being provided to the affected families according to local traditions.

The passenger train was temporarily halted due to a landslide near Dozan Post in the Machh area yesterday. However, the trains were restored after the railway track was cleared by FC personnel and railway workers.

Relief operations in Qila Saifullah, Chaman, Qila Abdullah, Harnai and other affected areas in collaboration with PDMA and district administration will continue till facilities are provided to the victims. ISPR
