QUETTA: “Stay at Home”,  and adopt “Social-Distancing” in the battle against the COVID-19, which has affected almost all countries and continents around the globe. The Balochistan Rural Support Program (BRSP) organized a session to discuss ways and means to battle the coronavirus in an effective way. The session was attended by legislators, religious scholars, political personalities, traders and journalists.

“Through social-distancing, we can keep the disease away”, Malik Naseer  Shahwani, the member Balochistan Assembly from BNP (Mengal) told the participants. Bilal Kakar, a central leader of the Balochistan Awami Party (BAP) and chief minister’s coordinator assured that the present government was determined to join hands with all stakeholders to defeat this pandemic.

BRSP Chief Nadir Gul Bareech spoke at length about his organization’s ongoing operations against novel coronavirus in 27 districts of Balochistan. “Despite odds, we kept continued our journey to facilitate the masses in these crucial times”, Mr. Bareech said. The BRSP has held meetings with masses at village level, provided thousands of gloves, sanitizers, PPEs, soaps and other necessary items to the people.

The organizations such as BRSP should join hands with the government to support the marginalized class of society, the deputy commissioner Quetta, Major (R) Aurangzaib Badini told the participants.

Through loudspeakers, the BRSP has been lobbying in remote and far-flung areas of Balochistan to create awareness among the people regarding the COVID-19. Meager resources and threats did not stop us from supporting our people in these troubled times, Nadir Gul Bareech vowed while referring to his organization’s campaign in rural parts of the province.

Opposition leader Malik Sikandar Advocate, Sana Durrani of BAP, Amruddin Agha from traders community and others participated in the session that discussed precautionary measures regarding the novel coronavirus in Balochistan.
