Quetta: Functions, celebrations, and rallies were organized in Quetta and other parts of Balochistan on the eve of the 76th Independence Day of the country. On Monday, political parties, members of civil society, and govt officials organized rallies and functions to celebrate independence day.
The flag-hoisting ceremony was held at the Quaid E Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah Residency in Ziarat. Commissioner Sibi division Shahid Saleem Qureshi and other officials hoisted the white-green flag.
A large number of people participated in the flag-hoisting ceremony. “This Independence is the blessing of Allah Almighty”, Commissioner Sibi Divison said. Different functions were organized in the Ziarat district on the eve of independence day.
Flag hoisting ceremonies were also held in Chaman, Quetta, Gwadar, Pishin, Dera Bugti, Kech, and other district headquarters of the province. Scores of people turned out to participate in Independence Day celebrations.
A function was also in Quetta, former spokesperson to CM Balochistan Babar Yousafzai addressed the participants of the function. ” Our forefathers sacrificed their lives for a separate independent Muslim homeland”, Mr. Yousafzai told the jubilant people. He said the blessing of independence was not an easy thing rather scores of people made tooth-and-nail efforts to achieve this.
