Sindh High Court Orders MDCAT Reconduct Amidst Paper Leak Scandal

Karachi: In a major development, the Sindh High Court has ordered the re-conduct of the Medical and Dental College Admission Test (MDCAT) 2024 for students in Sindh province. The decision comes after a significant paper leak scandal involving the Dow University of Health Sciences (DUHS), which conducted the original exam on September 22, 2024.

The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) confirmed the paper leak during a court hearing, prompting the court to take swift action. To ensure transparency and fairness, the Institute of Business Administration (IBA) Karachi has been appointed as the new conducting body for the re-examination.

Key Details of the Re-Examination:

  • Syllabus: The re-examination will adhere to the Pakistan Medical and Dental Council (PMDC) syllabus.
  • Pattern: The test will consist of 200 Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs).
  • Subject-wise Breakdown:
    • Biology: 68 MCQs
    • Chemistry: 54 MCQs
    • Physics: 54 MCQs
    • English: 18 MCQs
    • Logical Reasoning: 6 MCQs
  • Duration: The exam will be 3.5 hours long.
  • Textbooks: The new Sindh province textbooks will be followed.

The re-examination is expected to be held within the next four weeks. This decision aims to rectify the damage caused by the paper leak and provide a fair opportunity to all aspiring medical and dental students in Sindh.
