The Education Department of Balochistan has announced the closure of all educational institutions, including schools, colleges, and universities, on Monday, November 25. The decision follows a province-wide wheel-jam strike called by political parties, transporters, and traders to protest the kidnapping of 10-year-old Mohammed Musawir.
Separate notifications have been issued by the Secondary Education and Higher Education Departments to implement the closure. Political parties have vowed to intensify their protests if the child is not recovered soon. Mohammed was abducted 10 days ago from the Multani Muhala area, sparking outrage across the province.
The strike is expected to disrupt transportation and commercial activities, and authorities anticipate significant public participation. The Education Department emphasized its decision was made to ensure the safety of students amid the protests.
For background, Mohammed Muir’s kidnapping has led to widespread condemnation and demands for immediate action. Despite efforts by law enforcement, the child remains missing, prompting growing frustration among citizens and activists.
Authorities are under pressure to resolve the case promptly to restore public trust and avert further unrest.
