Quetta – June 15, 2025:In a significant development linked to the broader Middle East conflict, the Government of Balochistan has sealed major Pakistan-Iran border crossings in Gwadar and Panjgur districts. The move comes amid rising security threats and concerns over cross-border fuel smuggling, as regional tensions escalate following recent geopolitical turmoil involving Iran.

According to official statements issued by Deputy Commissioners across the province, all pedestrian and trade movement — including fuel delivery — has been suspended indefinitely as a “precautionary security measure.”
The Gabd-Kalato 250 border point in Gwadar, a key route for local trade and oil transport from Iran, has been closed until further notice. “As per government instructions, this corridor is now sealed. Citizens are advised to avoid unnecessary travel and contact local administration for updates,” said a statement from the Gwadar DC’s office.
In Panjgur, the district administration has also suspended all activity at border crossings. Officials confirmed that petrol and diesel supply through Iranian routes has been completely halted due to the unstable regional environment and potential security risks. “The situation in Iran is uncertain, and international tensions are creating real threats. These actions are purely preventive,” said the Panjgur DC.
