News Desk:

Balochistan government spokesperson Shahid Rind said on Tuesday that a 16-year-old boy was killed, and two terrorists backed by India were eliminated during a counter-terrorism operation in the Mastung district.

According to Shahid Rind, the attack targeted key government installations, including the tehsil office, a local bank, and other administrative buildings. The militants opened indiscriminate fire, killing a teenager on the spot and injuring at least seven others.

“Security forces, including the Frontier Constabulary (FC), Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD), and Levies, responded immediately, cordoned off the area, and engaged the terrorists in a fierce gunfight,” Rind said. He confirmed that two militants were killed on the spot, while three others sustained injuries.

The attackers are believed to be associated with ‘Fitna al Hindustan’, Mr. Rind said.

Eyewitnesses and local officials, including Deputy Commissioner Athar Abbas Raja, reported intense gunfire and multiple blasts in Mastung around 11:00 AM, causing panic among local residents.

The province has seen a surge in terrorist attacks in recent months, many of which have been linked to foreign-backed elements, particularly the banned Balochistan Liberation Army (BLA). Authorities believe these groups are attempting to sabotage peace and development efforts in the region.
