Gwadar International Airport would be made functional by December 2022. This was revealed in a high-level meeting chaired by the chief minister, Balochistan Jam Kamal Khan on Monday. Gwadar Port Authority (GPA) Chairman, Naseer Ahmed Kashani, and Director-General Gwadar Development Authority (GDA), Shahzaib Kakar with regard to the Gwadar Master Plan and other development activities in the port city.

The meeting was told that work was underway in full-swing on the construction of Gwadar International Airpot and that it would be made functional by December 2022. The meeting made a number of important decisions regarding the Gwadar Port and the pace of development projects.

The meeting decided to amend GDA building regulation 2020 to attract private sector to invest in the port city of Gwadar. Speaking on the occasion, Jam Kamal Khan stated that the Prime Minister’s historic relief for the construction sector would result in the enhancement of economic activities in the country.

The Chief Minister directed the concerned quarters to address the issue of scarcity of water and find permanent solutions in this regard. “All out efforts should be made to address the issues faced by the masses”, he added.
