Quetta: Under the leadership of Provincial Minister for Education Raheela Hameed Khan Durrani, another historic milestone has been achieved as the Balochistan Textbook Board secured a record saving of PKR 1.25 billion through a fully transparent tendering process.

Chairman of the Balochistan Textbook Board, Dr. Gulab Khan Kakar, stated that the entire procurement process for textbooks for the academic year 2026 was completed with full transparency, merit, and impartiality, in line with the clear directives of Chief Minister Balochistan Mir Sarfaraz Bugti, the Provincial Education Minister, the Chief Secretary, and the Secretary of Education.

According to Dr. Kakar, the total demand for textbooks this year has reached 11.4 million, which is 2.1 million more than last year. Reflecting confidence in the Board’s improved performance, over 20 reputable companies from across Pakistan participated in the tender process this year.

Due to the Board’s transparent policies, strong strategy, and timely decision-making, the provincial exchequer achieved a historic saving exceeding PKR 1.25 billion. This achievement marks a significant milestone not only for Balochistan but also in the textbook procurement history of Pakistan.

Dr. Gulab Khan Kakar further added that all textbooks have been developed in accordance with the new 2022–2023 curriculum.
