News Desk: Balochistan Chief Minister Mir Sarfraz Bugti on Wednesday chaired a high-level meeting to review a proposal for extending the Green Bus Service to the Harley Health Services Projects area in Quetta.
The meeting examined the progress of the expansion initiative, proposed new routes, and measures to enhance travel facilities for the public, particularly patients and healthcare workers. Discussions also focused on improving the standard and efficiency of public transport services in the city.
Officials briefed the Chief Minister that the proposed extension would provide convenient and timely access to the Harley Health Services Projects area, easing travel for residents, patients, and medical staff.
Speaking on the occasion, Chief Minister Bugti said that ensuring safe, modern, and efficient public transport for urban populations is a key priority of the provincial government. He directed the relevant departments to complete the expansion project within the approved timeline, stressing that service quality, cleanliness, punctuality, and passenger comfort must be maintained without compromise.
He further instructed that route planning should be designed to benefit the maximum number of commuters, with special attention given to the needs of women, senior citizens, patients, and persons with disabilities.
The meeting was attended by Parliamentary Secretary for Transport Mir Liaquat Ali Lehri, Chief Secretary Balochistan Shakeel Qadir Khan, Additional Chief Secretary for Development and Planning Zahid Saleem, Principal Secretary Babar Khan, Secretary Transport Hayat Khan Kakar, Commissioner Quetta Division Shahzaib Kakar, Deputy Commissioner Quetta Mehrullah Badini, and other concerned officials, who also shared recommendations regarding the execution of the project.
