Syed Ali Shah, News Desk:

Finance Secretary of Balochistan, Imran Zarkoon, has categorically rejected reports circulating on social media regarding the upgradation of Sub-Accountant posts from Grade 14 to Grade 16. In an exclusive interview with quettavoice.com, he clarified that no such upgrade has taken place and termed the claims as baseless and misleading.

The Secretary explained that confusion originated from a letter issued in 2019, which later came under the scrutiny of the Balochistan High Court. Following the court’s notice, a detailed inquiry was conducted by the Treasury Department. The investigation revealed that the letter was fake and had been issued by certain elements to create false expectations among candidates. As a result of the inquiry, five individuals involved in the issuance of the forged letter were identified and awarded punishments under departmental rules.

Imran Zarkoon emphasized that Sub-Accountant posts remain in their original grade and urged the public to rely only on official notifications rather than unverified information shared on social media platforms. He also dismissed ongoing online speculation, reiterating that no summary or notification regarding any upgradation exists.

Speaking about new recruitments, the Finance Secretary announced that 111 Sub-Accountant posts in the Balochistan Finance Department will be filled purely on merit. For the first time in the history of the province, the department has introduced an online testing system to ensure transparency and good governance. He stated that candidates will be able to view their test results within one hour of completing the online exam, and appointment letters will be issued at the earliest possible time.

He described the initiative as a major reform aimed at eliminating delays, favoritism, and manipulation in the recruitment process. Chief Minister Balochistan Mir Sarfaraz Bugti has also endorsed the initiative and recently stated on social media platform X that successful candidates would receive their appointment orders shortly after the test.

Imran Zarkoon expressed hope that other departments would adopt the same transparent mechanism introduced by the Finance Department, calling it a model for merit-based recruitment and improved governance in Balochistan.
