A 50-year old man has been tested positive for the Congo Virus on Friday in Quetta. This is the first case of the virus during the current year, Dr. Sadiq, the Spokesman Fatima Jinnah Chest and General Hospital told the daily Quetta Voice.

The patient has been admitted to the hospital’s ward, specified for congo patients, he informed. The patient belongs to Quetta’s Pashtoonabad area and was a cattle owner. “The patient was suffering from severe fever and bleeding from the nose”, he said. The laboratory-confirmed presence of the congo virus and now the patient is under treatment.

Dr. Sadiq however stated that the condition of the patient was currently out of danger. Over two dozens case of the congo virus were reported during the year 2019. Most of the cases were reported from Balochistan’s Loralai and Killa Saifullah districts. Most people involved in the business of animals were tested positive for the congo virus.
