Islamabad — The MDCAT 2026 exam is expected to take place after July, following the conclusion of FSc exams 2026 and A-Level exams 2026, according to a key decision discussed in a meeting of the National Assembly Standing Committee on Health.
The meeting, chaired by Dr. Mahesh Malani, was attended by Federal Health Minister Mustafa Kamal, senior officials from the Ministry of Health, and representatives of the Pakistan Medical and Dental Council (PMDC).
During the briefing, PMDC officials informed the committee that the MDCAT exam date 2026 will be scheduled only after all major board examinations are completed across the country. This move aims to ensure fairness and equal preparation time for all candidates.
According to details shared:
Cambridge (A-Level) exams will conclude on June 8, 2026
The last FSc or A-Level paper nationwide is expected on July 20, 2026
In Sindh, intermediate exams will end earlier, on May 30, 2026
PMDC emphasized that conducting the MDCAT exam after board exams will prevent any disadvantage to students and allow sufficient preparation time.
Officials also revealed that over 100,000 students are expected to appear in the MDCAT 2026 Pakistan, making it one of the largest medical entry tests in the country.
The council assured that all necessary steps are being taken to ensure transparent MDCAT exams, including proper exam centers and strict monitoring systems.
Federal Health Minister Mustafa Kamal directed authorities to maintain complete transparency in the examination process and to announce the MDCAT schedule 2026 in a timely manner so students can prepare effectively.
