Islamabad: Jan Muhammad Buledi raised serious concerns over the worsening situation in Balochistan during a Senate session, claiming that the province has been brought to a standstill due to road closures, disruptions in education, and an overall breakdown of normal life.
Addressing the Senate, Senator Buledi stated that roads, highways, and schools across Balochistan remain closed, leaving daily life paralysed in several districts. He alleged that the writ of the government is confined only to the Red Zone in Quetta, while many parts of the province continue to struggle with instability and insecurity.
The senator emphasized that Parliament, particularly the Senate, represents people from all provinces of Pakistan and therefore cannot ignore the deteriorating conditions in Balochistan. He urged lawmakers to acknowledge the seriousness of the crisis and take immediate notice.
“If there is fire in Balochistan, this House has to take notice. We have to extinguish the flames of fire in Balochistan,” Buledi said during his speech, stressing the need for urgent intervention.
He further argued that the interest of the state should be protected rather than individuals, criticizing the current setup for failing to ensure the safety of citizens and safeguard public property.
Senator Buledi also claimed that the present government has failed to deliver on its commitments to protect the lives and properties of the masses in Pakistan, calling for practical measures to restore stability and public confidence in the province.
