Quetta : The Government of Balochistan has achieved remarkable success through its innovative digital economy initiative, generating more than Rs1 billion in revenue from an initial investment of Rs200 million. The achievement highlights the province’s growing focus on digital transformation, IT development, and youth empowerment.

A prestigious ceremony was held at the Chief Minister’s Secretariat in Quetta to recognize this success, where ten leading digital influencers from Balochistan were awarded honorary certificates for their contributions to promoting the province’s digital economy.

Representing Chief Minister Mir Sarfraz Bugti, Provincial Minister for Planning and Development Mir Zahoor Ahmed Buledi distributed certificates among the top-performing influencers. The event was attended by Provincial Interior Minister Mir Ziaullah Langove, Parliamentary Secretary for Information Technology Mir Abdul Samad Gorgij, Adviser for Youth Affairs and Sports Meena Majeed Baloch, senior government officials, and representatives from various sectors.

Speaking at the ceremony, Mir Zahoor Ahmed Buledi stated that generating over Rs1 billion in revenue from a Rs200 million investment demonstrates how smart investments, digital innovation, and technology-driven economic strategies can deliver exceptional financial results.

He emphasized that the global Information Technology (IT) sector offers enormous opportunities and urged young people to equip themselves with modern digital skills. According to him, nearly 500 million job opportunities are available worldwide in the technology sector, and Balochistan’s youth have the potential to benefit from these opportunities through talent, innovation, and professional training.

The minister highlighted that under the leadership of Chief Minister Mir Sarfraz Bugti, significant efforts are being made to integrate underprivileged communities, youth, and remote regions into the mainstream of economic development. He noted that alongside physical infrastructure, investment in human capital development, digital skills training, research, and innovation has become a key priority.

He further revealed that more than 3,000 schools have been activated across the province to improve educational standards, while Rs8 billion in grants were allocated to public universities during the previous fiscal year. The upcoming provincial budget will place special emphasis on Artificial Intelligence (AI), emerging technologies, research and development, and digital education programs.

Buledi also highlighted the role of the Balochistan Education Endowment Fund, which provides opportunities for students from minority communities, transgender individuals, and other marginalized groups to access education at leading international universities.

The ceremony concluded with participants appreciating the provincial government’s efforts to strengthen the digital economy, technology sector growth, youth entrepreneurship, AI adoption, and digital skills development. They reaffirmed their commitment to supporting Balochistan’s journey toward sustainable economic growth and digital prosperity.

During the event, shields were presented to the top ten performers of the DG Biz program, while Program Director Javad Khan received a special shield from the Parliamentary Secretary and Secretary of Information Technology for his outstanding contributions.
