By Web Desk: Pakistani security forces killed eight terrorists, including a suspected suicide bomber, during two intelligence-based operations in Kharan and Mastung districts of Balochistan, the military’s media wing, Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), said on Saturday.

According to ISPR, the operations were carried out on June 25 and 26 after intelligence reports identified the presence and movement of terrorists in the two districts. The raids were part of the military’s ongoing counterterrorism campaign against groups involved in violent attacks across Pakistan.

The first operation took place in Kharan, where security forces intercepted a group of terrorists based on actionable intelligence. During the exchange of fire, three terrorists were killed, while several others were believed to have escaped with injuries.

In a separate intelligence-led operation in Mastung, security forces targeted a location following reports of the possible presence of a suicide bomber. After an intense gun battle, five terrorists, including the suspected suicide attacker, were killed.

ISPR said troops recovered a cache of weapons, ammunition, improvised explosive devices (IEDs), and motorcycles allegedly used by the terrorists. Clearance and sanitisation operations are continuing to ensure no terrorists remain in the area.

President Asif Ali Zardari, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, and Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi praised the security forces for the successful operations. They commended the troops’ professionalism and reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to eliminating terrorism and maintaining peace across the country.

The latest operations are part of an intensified nationwide counterterrorism drive aimed at dismantling terrorist networks, preventing future attacks, and strengthening security in Balochistan.
