Web Desk: Balochistan Chief Minister Mir Sarfraz Bugti has described the latest ruling by the Court of Arbitration on the Indus Waters Treaty as an important legal victory for Pakistan, saying the agreement remains binding under international law.
In a statement shared on social media platform X, Bugti said India cannot unilaterally suspend, terminate or place the Indus Waters Treaty in abeyance. He said the ruling reaffirmed the validity of the decades-old water-sharing agreement between Pakistan and India.
The Balochistan chief minister said the decision also underscored the importance of respecting international law and treaty obligations.
“Protecting Pakistan’s water rights is our national responsibility,” Bugti said.
