Sports activities crucial for a healthy society: CM Balochistan

Chief Minister Balochistan, Jam Kamal Khan has termed sports activities crucial for a healthy society. The Chief Minister expressed these views during his visit to a Karate Academy in Hazara Town area of Quetta on Sunday evening. “Our players can play on national and international levels”, he told the Karate players present in the Academy.

Adviser to the Chief Minister on Sports, Abdul Khaliq Hazara, Secretary Sports Imran Gichki, Commissioner Quetta Division, Asfandyar Kakar were also present on the occasion.

“Our sportsmen have the capacity to present the province”, Jam Kamal stated. The sportsmen made selfies with the Chief Minister Jam Kamal KhanJam Kamal to lead parliamentary committee regarding COVID-19 in Balochistan. They thanked the CM for paying visit to their academy and encouraging  them to improve their capacities to compete.

Hazaras famous for sports

Members of the Hazara community are famous for sports in general and Karate in particular. The community has produced world-fame karate players like Kulsoom Hazara who got gold-medal in 2016 at South Asian Karate Championship. Her mentor and brother-in-law Sarwar Ali was killed in a terrorist attack in 2005 in Quetta.

“We are proud of our players”, Jam Kamal told the Karate players on the occasion. He assured that his government would extend all possible support to promote sports activities and boost the capacity of players.

“They are Pakistan’s ambassadors”, the Chief Minister said.

Jam Kamal Khan assured resolution of players issues. The provincial government has taken a number of initiatives to promote games in the province. Recently, the Chief Minister also inaugurated a futsall ground in the outskirt of Quetta.

Secretary Sports Imran Gichki has been visiting various parts of the province to boost various sports activities. “We are determined to open new vistas of opportunities for our players”, Mr. Gichki stated.

Hazara town has been the scene of worst sectarian terrorist attacks in the past. Terrorists incidents have claiemd scores of precious human lives. The security situation has improved in Quetta and other parts of Balochistan in the aftermath of sucessful operations by security forces.
