Opposition parties least bothered about plight of masses: Balochistan Ministers
Staff Reporter :
QUETTA: Balochistan ministers on Monday strongly criticized the opposition narrative and said the 11-party alliance is least bothered about the plight of the masses. Finance Minister Balochistan, Mir Zahoor Buledi, Revenue Minister, Saleem Khosa, and others lashed out at the newly formed Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM) for its narrative in public meetings at a crowded press conference in Quetta.
“Opposition narrative should not be at the cost of State and State institutions”, Zahoor Buledi said. The legislators of the ruling Balochistan Awami Party (BAP) claimed corruption was at its peak during the nationalists’ led government in Balochistan. They recalled that bags full of local and foreign currency notes were recovered during the nationalist government in the province.
Opposition striving personal agenda: Buledi
“Opposition strives to advance its own agenda rather than country and nation”, the Finance Minister stated.
The treasury members’ response has come after two power shows staged by the PDM in Gujranwala and Karachi. The PDM leaders hit hard at the ruling political parties for what they claim their failures to address the issues of the masses.
“Opposition narrative seems to be of any foreign enemy”, Saleem Khosa, the BAP leader and serving revenue minister claimed. He said the mainstream leaders of opposition political parties made properties worth billions of rupees abroad.
“Criticizing the military leadership means an attempt of weakening the state”, Mobeen Khilji, a legislator from the ruling Pakistan Tehrik e Insaf (PTI) said. He however said the masses have rejected what he called the opportunists’ leaders. “Masses cannot be deceived any more since they know about the personal agenda of opposition”, Mr. Khilji said.
The provincial ministers said some elements were exploiting the slogan of sense of deprivation for their personal gains rather than Baloch masses.
