Balochistan Govt reinstates 114 sacked teachers from Turbat

The Balochistan government on Wednesday reinstated 114 sacked teachers from Turbat district Kech. The education department had terminated 114 teachers from Turbat for being chronic absentees last year.
Sources in the education department said the secretary of secondary education has withdrawn an earlier notification for termination of the teachers. However, the Chief Minister Inspection Team would conduct an inquiry in this regard, a notification issued by the education department said on Wednesday.
The sacked teachers had established a protest camp outside the Quetta Press Club to press the authorities to reinstate their services. Currently, the sacked teachers were observing hunger till death strike as a protest against the government’s decision of sacking them.
The Chief Minister Balochistan, Jam Kamal Khan, and education minister Sardar Yar Muhammad Rind took notice of their strike and ordered the reinstatement of their service.
Over 2,000 teachers suspended during the crackdown earlierÂ
The Balochistan education department had launched a crackdown against the chronic absentee teachers and ordered an inquiry against them. Over 2,000 teachers were suspended during the crackdown in various districts of Balochistan. Inquiries are underway against the suspended teachers in all 33 districts of Balochistan.
Zahoor Buledi, the Finance Minister Balochistan in a tweet welcomed the reinstatement and expressed hope that now the teachers would ensure their presence in government-run schools to teach kids.
