PDM stages demo in Quetta

The Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM) on Friday staged a protest demonstration in Quetta as part of an ongoing protest against the government. The component parties of the anti-government alliance marched through different roads of Quetta city.

The Jamiat ul Ulema e Islam (JUI) leader, MNA, Maulana Abdul Wasey, Senator Usman Kakar of Pashtoonkhwa Milli Awami Party (PKMAP), MNA Agha Hassan Baloch of Balochistan National Party (Mengal), Atta Muhammad Bangulzai of National  Party (NP) and others addressed the participants of protest demonstration.

The protesters had carried placards and banners inscribed with slogans condemning the government for what they claim to push the country towards destruction. They chanted full-throated slogans against the Pakistan Tehrik e Insaf (PTI) led government and demanded an end to what they term authoritarian rule.

Rulers destroyed the economy of the country: PDM leaders claimed

Maulana Abdul Wasey in his speech lashed out at the government and claimed the rulers have destroyed the economy of the country for their personal gains. “PDM will continue to resist this government”, he said.

Usman Kakar strongly criticized the government policies and warned that the component parties of the 11-party alliance would intensify the protest. He said throughout the country, the protest movement would be intensified that will force the rulers to quit.

Agha Hassan Baloch said the rulers were least bothered about the issues faced by the masses of Balochistan. He said his party would stand by the masses to mount pressure on the rulers.

Atta Muhammad Bangulzai also vowed to keep continue the democratic struggle for supremacy of constitution and rule of law in the country. Leaders of other component parties also addressed the protest demonstration and warned of launching a tough movement against the government in the days to come.

Haji Arif adds from Kharan: The anti-government alliance also organized a protest meeting against the government. Mufti Abdul Ghaffar of JUI F, Mir Muhammad Ismail Pirakzai, and others also addressed the participant of the rally in Kharan.
