Quetta: blast injured 2 on Sariab road

A roadside blast has injured 2 people in Quetta’s Sariab Road on Saturday evening. Police said unknown miscreants had planted a bomb on the roadside in the Sariab Mill area of Quetta city.
The bomb went off when a passenger bus was passing nearby. Police said the injured identified as Muhammad Saleem and Muhammad Akbar. Rescue workers and police were quick at the scene and shifted the injured to civil hospital Quetta for medical treatment.
Bomb went off soon after the Eagle Squad of Police passed
A police official said personnel of the Eagle Squad was passing through the area a short while ago. The Eagle squad personnel of police were unhurt in the attack. Eagle Squad was the target of the terrorists, the official mentioned. He however requested anonymity. Two passengers sustained injuries. The blast also smashed the glasses of the passenger bus. Security tightened in the area after the blast that rocked the entire Sariab area
Police personnel reached the spot as investigation into the incident went underway. Police cordoned off the area to collect evidence from the spot of the crime.
Shahwani condemns the terrorist attack
The spokesman government of Balochistan, Liaquat Shahwani strongly condemned the terrorist act. In a statement issued to the press after the attack, Mr. Shahwani said the government would bring the perpetrators of the blast to book.
The blast has come almost two weeks after the brutal murder of 11 coal miners in Balochistan’s Mach area. The ethnic Shia Hazara community had staged six days-long sit-ins in the Western Bypass area of Quetta.
