After hectic efforts, the dead body of the trapped coal miner in Balochistan’s Mach area was retrieved after more than 50 hours. Two coal miners were trapped inside a coal mine in Balochistan’s resource rich Mach area inside a coal mine on Sunday morning.  First trapped miner was recovered in an unconsciousness condition on Monday evening by rescue workers. However, the second trapped miner was recovered on Tuesday evening. “We are here for second day to recover the trapped miner”, Muhammad Imran, one of the locals of Mach town earlier told Quetta Voice via phone. He however said the chances of life of trapped miner were bleak as it was third day inside the mine.

In Balochistan, coal miners have been working in hazardous conditions inside coal mines of the province. The labour leaders accuse both mines and mineral department and contractors for the pathetic conditions. “They only earn money and they are least bothered about the lives of innocent people”, Peer Muhammad Kakar, the central leader of All Pakistan Labour Federation tells Quetta Voice. However, Fateh Shah Arif, one of the contractors denies such allegations and  says that contractors were paying huge amount of  money to government on account of safety of coal miners. “It is the government, which is least bothered about the lives of miners” , he claimed.
