CHAMAN: President Pak-Afghan Chamber of Commerce, Engineer Daro Khan Achakzai has demanded of the federal government to take the business community on board regarding the closure of the border with Afghanistan and lockdown.

“Business community has suffered huge financial losses as result of border’s closure”, Mr. Achakzai told Quetta Voice in an interview on Friday evening. Pakistan had closed its border with Afghanistan on March 2nd after reports of coronavirus outbreak in the neighboring country.

However, as a gesture of goodwill, Pakistan had opened the border  with Afghanistan from April 6 to 9 to allow Afghans from Pakistan to enter into their country on a humanitarian basis. “Thousands of containers/trucks stranded at the border, we want them to move”, Daro Achakzai demanded.

He said there was a need of foodstuff in Afghanistan. He urged upon the government to take the businessmen on board with regard to lockdown and closure of the border.
