Police have arrested 11 accused in the murder of a young man in Quetta’s Hazara Town area. A young man identified as Bilal Noorzai was beaten to death in a barbershop on Saturday night. The mob also injured two other young colleagues of Bilal.
The killing of young man angered the people who staged a protest demonstration at the Red Zone near chief minister Balochistan secretariat along with the dead body. They chanted slogans against police and demanded the arrest of the accused involved in the murder of young man.
“Through video footage, we have arrested 11 accused in the murder”, Razzaq Cheema, the additional inspector general of police told the daily Quetta Voice via telephone. He said an inquiry was ordered into the murder of young man. Mr. Cheema said that two colleagues of the young man were injured in the incident and were admitted to the Trauma Center at Civil hospital Quetta for medical treatment.
Home Minister Balochistan, Mir Ziaullah Langove also condemned the incident and assured that the culprits involved in the murder would be brought to justice. Mr. Langove said that SHO Brewery was also suspended for negligence.
Parliamentary leader Awami National Party (ANP), Asghar Khan Achakzai, and other political leaders also reached the protest demonstration and expressed sympathies with the bereaved family members. The protest demonstration was underway till the filing of this report.
