Well-known skin specialist, Professor Dr. Syed Shamsuddin has recovered from the novel coronavirus the other day. He was tested positive earlier and admitted to Fatima Jinnah Chest and General Hospital after his health condition deteriorated.

“Dr. Sab has been discharged from hospital and now at home”, Dr. Syed Bilal Shams, the elder son Dr. Shams told the daily Quetta Voice via phone. Dr. Shamsuddin is considered to be one of the leading dermatologists across Pakistan and widely known worldwide among health professionals.

Dr. Shams has served as chief of the dermatology department civil hospital Quetta, taught and trained a large number of male and female young doctors to serve the masses. “Physically, he is weak after the illness, but improving with every passing day”, Dr. Bilal mentioned.

The novel coronavirus has claimed 113 lives including five doctors in Balochistan since the outbreak of the pandemic. However, around 300 doctors, nurses, paramedics have been tested positive for the deadly virus in Balochistan. Most of the patients with mild-symptoms in Balochistan have been battling the deadly virus at their homes in isolation.
