Security forces on Saturday foiled a major terrorist bid by seizing a huge cache of arms and ammunition in Balochistan’s Kech district. An intelligence-based operation (IBO) was conducted in Buleda area of district Kech, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said.

A key commander of the banned Baloch Liberation Army (BLA) was killed during the IBO, the ISPR stated in a statement released to the press. Huge cache of arms and ammunition was recovered from the hideout of terrorists.

Earlier in the day,  one soldier embraced martyrdom and three got injured in a terrorist attack in the Pidrak area of district Kech, ISPR said. The security personnel were on a routine patrolling when attacked by terrorists in Pidrak area.

During the ensuing exchange of fire, Lance Naik Javed Karim was martyred while three other soldiers were injured. Security forces cordoned off the area to search for the terrorists following the attack, the ISPR said.

The incidents have come four days after a blast in Turbat killed one person and injured the other 7 people.
