3 killed in a firing incident in Killi Karabala Pishin

A polio vaccinator was injured in a firing incident in Balochistan’s Pishin district. Sheikh Abdullah, a polio vaccinator was returning back from anti-polio campaign when robbers opened fire to snatch his motorcycle, Qaim Lashari, the Deputy Commissioner Pishin said. The incident took place near Malezai Cross in the district.

“It was a robbery issue and nothing to do with polio campaign”, Mr. Lashari clarified. The injured vaccinator was rushed to district headquarters hospital Pishin for medical treatment. The condition of the vaccinator is stated to be out of danger. “We have launched a search operation to arrest the culprits  involved in the incident”, Mr. Lashari said.

The incident has happened on first day of an anti polio campaign launched in 25 districts of Balochistan. Anti polio campaign also launched in district Pishin. The Coordinator Emergency Operation Cell (EOC), Rashid Razzaq said the danger of poliovirus exists in Quetta, Pishin and Killa Abdullah districts.
