KOHLU: Levies Force foiled a major terrorism bid by seizing huge catche of arms and ammunition in Balochistan’s Kohlu district. Quick Response Force (QRF) of Levies conducted a raid in Mawand tehsil of Kohlu and recovered 12 anti-tank mines, LMG Rifle 1, 48 mortar shells and other weapons during the action, Abdul Sattar Mengal, the Assistant Commissioner told reporters during a press conference.
Unknown miscreants had dumped weapons to carry out subversive activities in various parts of Balochistan. The raid was conducted on reports of secret agencies that miscreants had dumped weapons and planning to carry terror acts in the area. “Action against miscreants will continue”, Mr. Mengal stated.

The Director-General Balochistan Levies, Mujeeb ur Rehman Qambrani announced Rs. 2 lakh reward and appreciation certificates for personnel who participated in the action.
Kohlu is considered to be one of the most sensitive districts of Balochistan. Miscreants in the past have carried out attacks against security forces and targeted vital national installations in the past.

Levies force conducted a raid in Harnai district and arrested an accused involved in the murder of Ali Muhammad Babar, a resident of Khost on Saturday. The accused Wali Dad was shifted to levies station for interrogation, Naseebullah, a levies official told the daily Quetta Voice.

Illegal Immigrants ApprehendedÂ
Levies also apprehended dozens of illegal immigrants in Balochistan’s Noshki district on Saturday. The illegal immigrants were trying to enter into Iran illegally when apprehended by levies force, Abdul Ghaffar Notezai, the Naib tehsildar told the daily Quetta Voice.
The illegal immigrants belong to Punjab province. They were traveling in a passenger wagon, when levies apprehended them. Every year, thousands of illegal immigrants make abortive attempts to reach European countries via Iran and Turkey. Most of them are caught in Iran and Turkey. Very few manage to reach Greece on their way to other European countries.
