Tareen Murder: Shutter down strike in Quetta, Pishin

Shutter down strike observed in Quetta and Pishin on Tuesday against the murder of Allah Dad Tareen, a traders leader. Unknown gunmen opened fire and killed the central secretary general Anjuman e Tajaran in the Pishin district of Balochistan.

All markets, shopping centers, and shops remained closed in Quetta city. Anjuman e Tajaran Balochistan and Pashtoonkhwa Milli Awami Party (PKMAP) had given the call of the strike to mourn the killing of Mr. Tareen. The flow of traffic remains thin on road following the shutter-down strike in the city.

“We demand the arrest of killers”, Rahim Kakar, the Chief of traders community in Quetta said. Mr. Kakar lamented that in broad-daylight, the traders’ leader gunned down in Pishin.

Shops and markets also remained closed in Pishin to mourn the killing of the traders’ leader.

Tareen laid to rest in his ancestral village Loai Alizai Pishin 

Allah Dad Tareen laid to rest in his ancestral village Loai Alizai in presence of a large number of people. Thousands participated in the funeral prayer. The religious scholars, political leaders, and tribesmen strongly condemned the incident and demanded of the administration to arrest the killers. “We will protest till the arrest of killers”, Asghar Tareen, a lawmaker from Pishin said.

Rahim Agha, the central president of Anjuman e Tajaran Balochistan said Mr. Tareen was a humble person and always struggled for the rights of the traders’ community. “This is the loss of entire Balochistan not only his family members”, Agha said.

Deputy Commissioner Pishin, Qaim Khan Lashari said efforts were on to apprehend the culprits behind the murder of the traders’ leader. So far, the heirs of Mr. Tareen have not lodged an FIR in the levies station. He however assured the aggrieved family that all-out efforts would be made to arrest the killers.
