PDM true voice of masses: Mehmood Achakzai

CHAMAN: Mehmood Khan Achakzai, the Chief of Pashtoonkhwa Milli Awami Party (PKMAP) on Wednesday termed the Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM) a true voice of the masses. He expressed these views while addressing a public meeting in connection with the death anniversary of Abdul Samad Khan Achakzai.

“PDM calls for supremacy of constitution and parliament”, Mr. Achakzai said. Flags-waving supporters of PKMAP warmly welcomed the party chairman during the public meeting. Senator Usman Khan Kakar, Abdul Rahim Ziaratwal, and others also addressed the gathering.

Mehmood Achakzai reiterated that supremacy of the constitution guarantees stability and development of the country. “We all including the military have to abide by the constitution”, the PKMAP chairman said.

There should be smooth flow and business at the Pak-Afghan border 

Mehmood Achakzai demanded that there should no restriction for the people at the Pak-Afghan border. “The party would resist any kind of obstacles at the border”, he said. The Pashtoon nationalist leader stated that Pakistan and Afghanistan government have to devise a strategy to address the grievances of the people at the border. There should be smooth movement of the people, he added.

The PKMAP chairman also asked the Afghan president Dr.  Ashraf Ghani and the Taliban to play their role in bringing peace in the war-torn country, Afghanistan. He said all groups must shun violence and let the people lead peaceful lives.

The speakers paid rich tribute to Abdul Samad Khan Achakzai in their speeches. They said the latter spent precious days of life behind the bars for the rights of Pashtoons and democracy in the country.
