Secretary Forest Balochistan directed to recover occupied forestlands

QUETTA: The Balochistan High Court (BHC) on Tuesday directed the Secretary of Forest Government of Balochistan to recover encroached and occupied forestlands in the province. A division bench of the BHC comprising chief justice, Mr. Justice Jamal Khan Mandokhail, and Mr. Justice Kamran Malakhail passed this order on a constitutional petition.
Talaat Waheed Khan advocate had filed a constitutional petition against the Government of Balochistan through the Chief Secretary.
The bench directed all commissioners to ensure assistance to the forest department
The bench directed all commissioners, deputy commissioners, and police chiefs to ensure their assistance to the forest department in the acquisition of occupied land. The court also ordered Secretary Forest to hold a meeting with the senior member board of revenue to trace encroached and occupied forestlands in the province.
The Chief Conservator of Forest also informed the court that in March and April, hunters from Khyber Pukhtoonkhwa come to Balochistan for hunting migratory birds. The bench ordered the Chief Conservator to hold a meeting with the Frontier Corps Chief to stop the transportation of birds.
Court ordered the forest department to take action against illegal hunters
Mr. Mandokhail directed the FC check posts to take strict measures against the illegal hunters transporting migratory birds from Balochistan to KP. The Director-General of Mines and Minerals also directed to provide a list of licenses and mine leases allotted within the forestlands.
The DG assured the court that action would be taken against the people who have allotted mines at forestlands in Balochistan.
Hearing of the case adjourned till April 13th
The hearing adjourned till April 13th. The court directed the concerned quarters to send the copy of the order to Inspector General FC North, Secretary Forest, all Commissioners, and other high ups.
