Painting competition held at BUITEMS to create awareness about poliovirus

Painting competition held at the Balochistan University of Information Technology and Management Sciences (BUITEMS) to create awareness among students about poliovirus.

Students of fine arts from Sardar Bahadur Khan Women University, University of Balochistan, and BUITEMS participated in the competition. 30 students from the three universities of Balochistan participated in the painting competition.

They shared their paintings regarding the crippling virus. The theme for the event was “polio awareness through canvas”.

The Dean of Faculty of Information Communication and Technology (ICT), Rahila Umar chaired the event. Deputy Commissioner Quetta, Major (R) Aurangzaib Badini, and officials of the World Health Organization (WHO) also participated in the meeting.

Balochistan reported 26 cases of the poliovirus during 2020. Most of the cases reported from the Quetta, Killa Abdullah, and Pishin districts of Balochistan.
