War of words intensifies between BAP and PTI

A fresh war of words between the main coalition partners in Balochistan dominated the political scene of the province on Saturday. War of words intensified between the Balochistan Awami Party (BAP) and Pakistan Tehrik e Insaf (PTI). The two main coalition partners issued statements complaining against each other.

“Ministers, advisers, and parliamentary secretaries called on CM Balochistan and lodged complaints against Sardar Yar Muhammad Rind”, a statement issued by the CM secretariat said. The lawmakers expressed resentment over the appointments of lower cadre officers in their constituencies in the education department, the statement said.

PTI terms the statement baseless ‘allegations

Soon after this statement, the PTI secretariat rejected what it called allegations and expressed reservations about the provincial government. “We will convey our concern to the federal minister Asad Umar in this regard”, the PTI statement mentioned.

Prime Minister Imran Khan had appointed federal minister Asad Umar to play the role of firefighter between the two coalition partners in Balochistan during his visit. The PTI Balochistan chapter chief Sardar Yar Muhammad Rind had also complained about the chief minister Jam Kamal Khan during the provincial assembly session the other day.

The blame game has come two days after PM asks Governor to step down 

The blame game between the two main coalition partners has come two days after Prime Minister Imran Khan reportedly asked the Balochistan government Justice (R) Amanullah Khan Yaseenzai to step down.

The BAP has 24 lawmakers and PTI has 7 lawmakers in the house of 65 in Balochistan. BAP has extended support to the ruling party in the federal government, whereas, PTI has backed Jam Kamal as the Chief Minister of Balochistan.

Sardar Yar Muhammad Rind had also made his anger public on the eve of senate elections in Balochistan. However, CM Jam Kamal and other coalition partners succeeded in convincing him to withdraw his son in the support of BAP candidate.
