Shopping center firing: Court orders registration of FIR against AC Quetta, others

A local court in Quetta ordered registration of a first information report (FIR) against the Assistant Commissioner city and other personnel in connection with the firing incident outside a shopping mall.
Quetta administration resorted to firing for the implementation of COVID19 standard operating procedures (SOPs) during the holy month of Ramazan. Additional district and session judge, Inayatullah Kakar passed this order on an application filed by Dr. Haroon under article 22/A of the constitution.
FIR lodged against Muhammad Zohaib and his personal guards
The petitioner had accused the AC city Zohaib and his personal guards for what he claimed resorting to unprovoked firing at his shopping mall. Police had already arrested five accused and lodged FIR against them. Police had accused them of beating levies men and creating obstacles in the implementation of COVID19 standard operating procedures (SOPs).
Traders welcome the judgement
The traders’ community welcomed the judgement of the court and termed it their victory. “Justice served, the court has ordered registration of FIR against the officers”, Rahim Kakar, the President of Anjuman e Tajaran Balochistan told a news conference.
DC Quetta had accused the mob of beating levies personnel
Deputy Commissioner Quetta, Major (R) Aurangzai Badini said a large number of employees inside the famous shopping malls and started beating levies personnel. “The mob injured two levies men and snatched weapons from them”, Mr. Badini said.
