QUETTA: After a thorough discussion, the disgruntled members of the ruling Balochistan Awami Party (BAP) nominated Mir Zahoor Buledi as the parliamentary leader. “Consensus developed to nominate Buledi as the parliamentary leader in Balochistan Assembly”, a well-placed source within the ruling party disclosed to daily Quetta Voice.

The BAP angry members held two days of extensive consultation to nominate the parliamentary leader. “It would be formally announced soon”, the source mentioned. The founder of BAP, Senator Saeed Ahmed Hashmi, and former Chief Minister Balochistan, Jan Muhammad Jamali also participated in meetings. Jamali is currently the Chief Organizer of the BAP.

Buledi belongs to Buleda district Kech

Mr. Buledi belongs to Buleda Tehsil of district Kech. He was elected as a member of the provincial assembly on the ticket of the ruling party during the 2018 general elections. Earlier, in 2008, Mr. Buledi was elected as MPA and served as the minister of Gwadar Development Authority (GDA). He has recently resigned as the Finance Minister of Balochistan.

Currently, Jam Kamal Khan, the incumbent CM is the parliamentary leader of the party in the house. The party has majority seats i.e. 24 in the house of 65 in the Balochistan Assembly.

The BAP angry members made this important decision before submitting a no-confidence motion against the CM Balochistan. Eleven members of the ruling party, 2 from the Balochistan National Party (Awami) and one Pakistan Tehrik e Insaf (PTI) lawmaker submitted a no-confidence motion against the CM on Monday evening.

“Yes, we support this move”, Malik Sikandar Advocate, the opposition leader in Balochistan Assembly told Quetta Voice.
